Saker Asllan, Lead Product Manager, SMARTS, NASDAQ
Saker Asllan is a Lead Product Manager for SMARTS Trade Surveillance, focusing on the key product development aspects including alerts and core functionalities. Based out of the NASDAQ London office since June 2012, he works closely with Investment Banks and trading firms to utilize and fine-tune the use of SMARTS in order to meet regulatory requirements and new polices.
Prior to joining NASDAQ, in 2008 Saker led the establishment of the Damascus Securities Exchange. As Acting Deputy CEO he led the team that developed the core business rules, procedures and implemented the Trading, Clearing and Settlement systems of the exchange. Asllan was also part of the establishment team of the Syrian Commission on Financial Markets in 2006 as IT Director, he managed the development of the IT infrastructure and systems.
Saker holds an MSc (Hons) in International Financial Markets from University of Southampton, MBA (Hons) from the International program of Paris-Dauphine University and BS in Software Engineering from University of Damascus.
