The FIX Trading Community, the non-profit, industry-driven standards body at the heart of global financial trading, is pleased to announce the launch of Orchestra Server as a benefit to its members. Orchestra Server allows users to create documentation for their messaging interfaces (‘rules of engagement’) based on FIX’s Orchestra standard. The system, based on the ETP S-Box service from Esprow, comes pre-loaded with the latest FIX Protocol specification and can be used to generate specifications in both human-readable and machine-readable forms using an interactive and intuitive user interface.
“Orchestra helps the industry improve how they manage, test and control its electronic messaging infrastructure.” said Jim Kaye, the FIX Trading Community’s Executive Director. “Orchestra Server provides a quick and easy way of understanding how Orchestra works and how best to use it. We’ve seen an increased adoption of Orchestra from our members, and we believe providing Orchestra Server to our members will help accelerate that trend. We also have working groups exploring practical applications of Orchestra, from onboarding through monitoring and testing.”
Hanno Klein, the FIX Trading Community’s Technical Director added “Having a single source for different output formats reduces time and effort and increases quality, avoiding the need to manually keep everything in sync. The FIX Protocol itself (FIX Latest version) has been available in Orchestra format for three years, and has saved ourselves time and effort in keeping our documentation completely up to date.
