Chris Smith, Head of Post-Trade, Trax
Chris Smith joined Trax in April 2014, now serving as Head of Trax and is a member of the management team for Europe and Asia. As Head of Trax, Mr. Smith is responsible for the development and delivery of the Trax Post-Trade Services, including regulatory reporting and trade matching. Before joining Trax, Mr. Smith developed the first commercial post MiFID dark pool, Euro Millennium, at NYFIX, which was later purchased by NYSE Euronext in 2009. After the acquisition of NYSE Euronext, he was Head of Hosted Commerical Markets. Before working for NYFIX and NYSE Euronext, Mr. Smith was responsible for European post-trade STP services with TradeWeb, building the first electronic confirmation method for Interest Rate Swaps. Previously, Mr. Smith held various operational management roles with Thomson Reuters and founded the Electronic Trade Confirmation (ETC) initiative with Fidelity Investments in the early 1990’s.
